Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia won the men's title at the Malaga P1 in Spain, beating Juan Lebron and Leandro Augsburger 6-2, 6-2. Gemma Triay Pons and Delfina Brea Senesi took the women's title, beating Paula Josemaria Martin and Beatriz Gonzalez Fernandez 7-5, 3-6, 7-6. The Premier Padel event ran from 11 July to 19 July.
Men
Coello and Tapia, both ranked No. 1, closed the final in two sets. Lebron, ranked No. 5, and Augsburger, ranked No. 6, took two games in each set.
The champions opened with a 6-3, 6-2 win over David Gala and Enzo Jensen Sirvent, then beat Leonel Daniel Aguirre and Alejandro Arroyo 6-4, 6-4. In the quarter-finals they came through Eduardo Alonso and Aimar Goñi Lacabe 6-7, 6-1, 6-4, and in the semi-finals they beat Martin Di Nenno and Francisco Navarro 6-4, 6-3. They dropped 1 set in 5 matches, with 1 three-set match.
Lebron and Augsburger reached the final by beating Gonzalez and Lucas Campagnolo 6-3, 6-2 and then Alejandro Galan and Federico Chingotto, both ranked No. 3, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6.
In the round of 16, Alonso and Goñi Lacabe, ranked No. 18 and No. 32, beat Jorge Nieto and Jon Sanz, ranked No. 12 and No. 10, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Malaga was the 7th Premier Padel title of the season for Coello and Tapia.
Women
Triay Pons and Brea Senesi, both ranked No. 1, won the final 7-5, 3-6, 7-6. Josemaria Martin, ranked No. 5, and Gonzalez Fernandez, ranked No. 4, levelled the match by taking the second set.
The champions began with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Lorena Rufo Ortiz and Victoria Iglesias Segador, beat Tamara Icardo Alcorisa and Claudia Jensen 6-2, 6-4 in the quarter-finals, and saw off Marta Ortega Gallego and Martina Calvo Santamaria 6-0, 6-4 in the semi-finals. They dropped 1 set in 4 matches, with 1 three-set match.
Josemaria Martin and Gonzalez Fernandez got there with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Beatriz Caldera Sanchez and Carmen Goenaga Garcia and a 6-2, 6-2 semi-final against Marina Guinart España and Alejandra Alonso De Villa. It was the 4th Premier Padel title of the season for Triay Pons and Brea Senesi.
