Galán and Chingotto down Tapia and Coello in Gijón

Galán and Chingotto and Triay Pons and Brea Senesi won the Gijón P2 titles.

Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto won the men's title at the Gijón P2 in Spain, beating Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello 7-5, 7-6 in the final on 8 March. Gemma Triay Pons and Delfina Brea Senesi took the women's title, beating Ariana Sánchez Fallada and Andrea Ustero Prieto 6-4, 6-7, 6-3.

Men

Galán and Chingotto, ranked No. 3, beat the No. 1 pair in two sets. The second set went to a tie-break.

The champions opened with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Enrique Goenaga and Aimar Goñi Lacabe, then beat Javier Garrido and Lucas Bergamini 6-2, 6-1 in the quarter-finals before coming from a set down against Jon Sanz and Jorge Nieto in the semi-finals, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Tapia and Coello reached the final through Martín Di Nenno and González, 6-3, 6-1, and Miguel Yanguas and Franco Stupaczuk, 7-6, 6-4.

Sanz and Nieto, ranked No. 10 and No. 12, had removed Juan Lebrón and Leandro Augsburger, ranked No. 5 and No. 6, 7-5, 7-6 in the quarter-finals.

It was the 1st Premier Padel title of the 2026 season for Galán and Chingotto.

Women

Triay Pons and Brea Senesi, ranked No. 1, won the final in three sets against Sánchez Fallada, ranked No. 3, and Ustero Prieto, ranked No. 7. The second set went to a tie-break.

The champions started with a 6-1, 3-0 win over Marta Barrera De La Fuente and Jimena Velasco Postiguillo, then needed three sets against Marta Ortega Gallego and Martina Calvo Santamaría in the quarter-finals, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, and closed the semi-finals against Tamara Icardo Alcorisa and Claudia Jensen 6-2, 6-2.

Sánchez Fallada and Ustero Prieto came through Marina Guinart España and Verónica Virseda 6-3, 7-5 and Paula Josemaría Martín and Beatriz González Fernández 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.

It was the 1st Premier Padel title of the 2026 season for Triay Pons and Brea Senesi.
