Tapia and Coello, Triay and Brea win the Italy Major

The pairs ranked No. 1 took both titles at the Italy Major on 7 June.

Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello won the men's title at the Italy Major, the Premier Padel Major staged in Italy, beating Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto 7-5, 7-6 on 7 June. Gemma Triay Pons and Delfina Brea Senesi took the women's title, beating Ariana Sánchez Fallada and Andrea Ustero Prieto 6-1, 7-5.

Men

Tapia and Coello, ranked No. 1, closed out the final 7-5, 7-6 against Galán and Chingotto, both ranked No. 3. The second set went to a tie-break.

The champions opened with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Álvaro Montiel Caruso and Flavio Abbate, then beat David Gala and Enzo Jensen Sirvent 6-1, 6-1, Javier Garrido and Lucas Bergamini 6-3, 7-6 in the quarter-finals and González and Lucas Campagnolo 6-1, 6-4 in the semi-finals. They dropped 0 sets in 5 matches and played 0 three-set matches.

Galán and Chingotto reached the final by beating Guillermo Collado and Pol Hernández Álvarez 6-3, 6-1 and then Juan Lebrón and Leandro Augsburger 7-6, 6-3.

González and Campagnolo, ranked 14 and 16, beat Miguel Yanguas and Franco Stupaczuk 6-4, 7-6 in the round of 16 and Martín Di Nenno and Francisco Navarro 6-3, 6-3 in the quarter-finals. Collado and Hernández Álvarez, ranked 39 and 38, came through 7-6, 3-6, 6-2 against Jairo Bautista and Íñigo Jofre. The title was the third Premier Padel title of the season for Tapia and Coello.

Women

Triay and Brea, ranked No. 1, won the final 6-1, 7-5 against Sánchez, ranked 3, and Ustero, ranked 7.

The champions started with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Claudia Escacena Montero and Patricia Martínez Fortún, came through 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 against Tamara Icardo Alcorisa and Claudia Jensen in the quarter-finals and beat Nuria Rodríguez and Giulia Dal Pozzo 6-3, 6-3 in the semi-finals. They dropped 1 set in 4 matches and played 1 three-set match.

Sánchez and Ustero got there by beating Marta Barrera De La Fuente and Jimena Velasco Postiguillo 6-1, 6-2 and then Paula Josemaría Martín and Beatriz González Fernández 5-7, 7-6, 7-6.

Rodríguez and Dal Pozzo, ranked 22 and 26, reached the semi-finals by beating Claudia Fernández Sánchez and Sofía Araujo 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. It was the third Premier Padel title of the season for Triay and Brea.
